Whew, today was a busy day. Between formatting and spending quality time with extended family, I am ready for bed! I am, however, incredibly grateful for the chance to do both.
Today I learned how to add full-page images to Atticus for my debut novel. I used Canva to create several custom images and included them within the pages of my book. To say I’m getting excited would be an understatement. I’m crazy thrilled!!
I made it almost all the way through print formatting today. All that is left is adding acknowledgements, an “about the author” page, and my title page. If you are following along on TikTok or Instagram (username: @cam_writing_a_book) you will know that the current cover of my book needs updates, which puts a wrench in updating my title page.
About a month ago, I changed my pen name to C.M. Sinner to honor myself and my father. Because of that, I still need to get with my cover designer to update the name, but I have held off. When a designer creates a cover, they require several things. One of those things is page count, which I didn’t know when I commissioned my cover.
So, instead of making my artist work twice, I figured I would kill two birds with one stone and have her make the size edits and name change at once.
Needless to say, this has me a bit frazzled. I want to ramp up marketing, but I can’t until I have my updated cover. I have made several videos with my new pen name slapped over the old one, but it drives my perfectionist brain bonkers. I think it’s time for a chill pill… and bed.
Love you, bye!
