Today was a sick day. I am not sure if I had food poisoning or if it’s my illness. For those of you who don’t know me very well, I have MS (multiple sclerosis). My symptoms are fatigue, loss of feeling in my fingers, Lhermitte’s sign, brain fog, numbness in my arms and legs, and sometimes tummy issues.

Although MS is incurable, I am lucky enough to manage my symptoms fairly well and take a DMT to (hopefully) slow down disease progression. Considering that I haven’t had a full-blown flare and/or new lesions since 2019, I’m thinking it’s doing its job.

I take Kesimpta. It is a once-monthly self injection. One thing I’ve noticed is that the week before I take it I always tend to feel crummy. This is unlovingly known as the “crap gap” in chronic illness circuits. Needless to say, I despise it.

Like, come on body… we have stuff to do!

But on these off days, I just need to remind myself that slowing down is okay. I may think I’m a superhero, but even Wonder Woman needs a break sometimes.

So, to honor my body’s wishes, I have spent time napping, reading, and taking a nice warm bath. I’m usually only down for the count for a day or so, so I’m sure I’ll be back to the grind tomorrow. Until then…

Love you, bye!
